'Fellemberg' (Pronounced: Fell IM Burg)

[Enlarged Image] 'Fellemberg' is a moderate sized bush that is very free-flowering, producing clusters of rosy-scarlet blooms against a background of healthy spreading foliage.	[Enlarged Image] The blooms are rosy scarlet and occur in clusters. Although it was originally classified as a China rose, it is now generally recognized as one of the few red Noisette roses.
[Enlarged Image] 'Fellemberg' blooms are open cupped and medium-sized, and they occur in large clusters.	[Enlarged Image] 'Fellemberg' can make a rather large bush, that is normally covered with huge sprays of large pink blooms.
[Enlarged Image] At times the blooms can be a much darker shade, even crimson.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION:	'Fellemberg' blooms are medium sized (2-1/2"), double (36 petals), cupped cerise-crimson, with bright yellow stamens, and they occur in large clusters. The blooms repeat throughout the growing season. 'Fellemberg' s one of the older roses, and it was once designated as a China rose that appeared prior to 1835. It is now recognized as one of the few red Noisette roses. 'Fellemberg' makes an excellent small pillar rose, or it may be trained as a shrub. The growth habit is bushy and spreading, and the foliage is dark green. The stems are more thorny than most China roses.

FOLIAGE DESCRIPTION:	The foliage is dark green and dull.

BLOOM FREQUENCY:	C - Continuous. 'Fellemberg' starts blooming in mid-spring (April in the Texas Hill Country). It flowers very freely and repeats well until frost.
BLOOM DESCRIPTION:	Flower Size:    3.00"      to      3.50"           Cluster Size:    5      to      10           Petal Count:    0 to 0           'Fellemberg' flowers are medium-sized (2" to 3"), cupped, and loosely double (36 petals). They occur in large clusters.

CULTURE:	'Fellemberg' is very disease resistant. It requires little attention other than sun, water and occasional mulching.
PROPAGATION:	'Fellemberg' is easily propagated from cuttings.
