The buds of 'Consuelo' are high-centered and medium red.

The buds open to loosely double very large flowers, that are so impressive that one makes a bouquet.

The canes are thicker and stiffer than most old garden roses and the flowers may occur singly or, as indicated by the profusion of buds in this picture, they may occur in clusters.

The bush is erect but compact, reaching heights of 4' - 5'.

INFORMATION:

"Consuello" is a found Hybrid Tea with very large (4" to 5") semi-double, slightly fragrant blooms. The cupped blooms open from long pointed buds, but flatten when fully open.

The foliage is large and medium green, and the growth habit is exceptionally narrow and upright.

"Consuelo" forms an extremely upright compact bush 4' to 5' in height and 2' - 3' in width.

"Consuelo" flowers are rather large (4" - 5") and may occur singly or in clusters of 3 to 5. The flower form is loosely double and when fully open, the flowers are very impressive. The bottom petals are almost flat and the inner petals are cupped.
