'American Beauty CL' is a once-blooming, beautiful, large (3-1/2"), bright pink, climbing rose with a simply breath-taking spring display.

When trained along a fence with the canes roughly horizontal, the buds form every few inches, sticking up like a picket fence, and then explode in a fantastic display of color.

I absolutely fell in love with 'American Beauty CL' within weeks of planting my first specimen. As you can see from this picture, it was tiny, but it had "visions of grandure".

The blooms are incredibly beautiful, but they cannot even begin to compare with the fragrance, which is overpowering.

'American Beauty CL' is the once blooming rose that made me into a total convert. I used to have a real prejucide against roses that did not repeat bloom, but 'American Beauty CL' gave me an entirely new perspective on the matter.

When a rose only blooms once, it puts its total energy into that effort. As a result, the display is overwhelming. 'American Beauty CL' treats me to somewhere between 500 and 1,000 flowers on a single specimen. Really, there ae too many to count.

GENERAL
INFORMATION:

'American Beauty CL' is a not a sport of the hybrid perpetual 'American Beauty'. Although its flower resembles that of its namesake, it is the result of a series of crosses.

It is a once-blooming vigorous climber with dark pink flowers that can reach heights of 12' - 15', and will happily cover any available rail fence.

'American Beauty CL' has beautiful globular buds that open to large, full (50 petals), very fragrant, dark pink, cupped flowers. It usually does not repeat bloom, although occasional blooms have been noted in the late summer.

ANECDOTAL
INFORMATION:

Many people have sever prejudices against 'Once Blooming' roses because they feel cheated if they do not have flowers throughout the growing season. I always recommend 'American Beauty CL' to such people and they are invaraible converted.

This rose is absolutely irresistable because its bloom is so prolifin in the spring, and the fragrance is so wonderful.
