On one of the arbors between the original rose garden and the newer beds and plantings down the hill, there is a particularly beautiful climbing rose known as 'Phyllis Bide'. 'Phyllis Bide' produces small, double, blooms that are pale gold shaded with pink. The blooms are borne in clusters that simply cover this ever-blooming Climbing Polyantha. In hot weather the blooms fade to white as they age. It is a very desirable pillar rose and it also works well on arbors and fences. It is a great rose for any garden setting where a climbing rose is appropriate.
