Swamp Rose

Courtesy of the local county road department, a ditch was constructed to divert the runoff away from the road in wet weather. The result is that a very large amount of water runs through the ditch and into the rose garden when it rains. Happily, this makes the perfect habitat for the 'Swamp Rose', which is native to the swamps of Louisiana. It is the only rose that will grow and thrive with its roots completely under water.
